Rachel Luna’s Biography

Rachel is a Southern California-based photographer specializing in photojournalism and editorial work.

Fresh out of college with a teaching degree in hand, she decided to pursue her passion for photojournalism where she spent seven years documenting major news events as a staff photographer for the Southern California News Group's 11-newspaper organization including the San Bernardino Sun, Riverside Press-Enterprise, L.A. Daily News and Orange County Register.

She's covered the Christopher Dorner Manhunt, San Bernardino Terror Attack, Las Vegas Mass Shooting, Coachella Music & Arts Festival, NASCAR, President Obama's visit to San Bernardino, and even went on a specialized flight mission aboard NASA's SOFIA 747SP aircraft.

In 2014, Rachel was nominated for a Pulitzer and won several awards, including a SPJ Sigma Delta Chi Award, National Headliner Award, Best of the West Award and California Newspaper Publisher Award, for her visual work in "Hinkley: A Ghost Town" special report.

The Southern California native holds a BA in Liberal Studies (English concentration) from Azusa Pacific University.
