The FIBA U18 EuroBasket remains one of my favorite events to cover every summer. It gives many of Europe’s top young prospects, players who are already on NBA radars, an opportunity to compete in front of NBA executives, international scouts and an increasing number of college coaches. As basketball continues to globalize and more European players are choosing to take the college route, it’s become common to see coaches from high and mid major programs in the bleachers in search of impact players.

You know it’s a big matchup when I’m willing to get up at the crack of dawn on my birthday to watch two prospects go head to head.
