Rafael Galán’s Biography

I'm a staff writer for the magazine Emprendedores, covering Spanish and international start-ups and SMEs, and a senior editor for its online edition. Previously I worked as a freelance copy editor for MRM Worldwide, writing also about SMEs for corporate magazines (Banco Santander, Prosegur and Coca Cola).

I started out as a crime reporter for the News Agency Europa Press and as a break news reporter for the newspaper ABC.

As a business journalist I have tried to convince Sir Richard Branson to start up a business idea I came up with; invented a board game to find the biggest expert on Planet Earth about any topic; created Californianas, a sunglasses brand; and a food truck chain. As a break news reporter I discovered how a national agency poured the toxic wastes of mad cows slaughterhouses into rivers. This story ended up discussed in the Regional Congress.

I'm also the co-author of five books: 'Homer Simpson's Guide to Doing Business' (2008), 'The positive mistake' (2009), 'Kama Sutra Management' (2010), 'The Tough Guys Club' (2011), and 'How to write a business plan in one week' (2013), all edited by PLANETA.

Since 2010, I ghostwrite for PLANETA at their business imprints DEUSTO, ALIENTA and GESTIÓN 2000.
