Exclusive footage leaked from behind barbed wire at Villawood Immigration Detention Centre shows drugs being used in plain sight, as an alleged murder is investigated. The images obtained by 7.30 show detainees using highly addictive synthetic drug methamphetamine in unlocked rooms, with guards free to walk in at any time. Other photos show drug paraphernalia scattered around the facility.

Stephen Cubis is a man in the hot seat. The softly spoken Kiwi was the public face of Australian company Global Investment Marketing. Known as GIM Trading, it is accused of defrauding millions of dollars from ordinary investors who thought they were buying low-risk corporate and government bonds. The National Anti-Scam Centre has received reports of almost $8 million in losses related to the company since the beginning of last year.

Transgender soccer player Riley Dennis has won a vilification case in the NSW local court, against anti-trans campaigner Kirralie Smith. The magistrate decided Ms Smith unlawfully vilified Ms Dennis through a series of social media posts that were "capable of inciting serious contempt" and could "severely ridicule" Ms Dennis. In 2023, Ms Smith launched a social media campaign to block transgender players from women's soccer in NSW.
