By Raja Akbar Qalamabad, June 5 (KNS) : On the occasion of World Environment Day, Handwara Police organized a district-wide tree plantation drive across all police establishments in the district, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development. The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Handwara, Sahil Sarangal, at Police Station Qalamabad. SHO Qalamabad, Sameer Altaf, along with other officers and officials, actively participated in the programme.

Raja Akbar Handwara, May 22 (KNS): Residents of several villages in the Mawar area of Handwara have alleged frequent unscheduled power cuts, saying electricity supply is not being maintained as per the notified schedule despite installation of power meters. Residents from Audoora, Nowgam, Drungsoo, Khudi Lawoosa, Warpora, Rashwari, Puthwari and adjoining areas said they continue to face repeated outages despite making regular electricity payments.
