Rande Vick’s Biography

Rande Vick is the founder of VICK, a Los Angeles–based strategy firm that specializes in Neurobrand Strategy, a brain-based approach to branding that bridges neuroscience, storytelling, and strategy. Known as the creator of the NeuroBrand Method™, Rande helps organizations craft brands that live rent-free in the minds of their audiences by combining immersive experience design, subconscious priming, and narrative resonance.

He writes frequently about the intersection of science and story, with published work in Brandingmag, Music Inc., and other outlets. His articles challenge conventional marketing wisdom, exposing the limits of surface-level “emotional branding” and offering evidence-based insights into how memory, trust, and immersion shape consumer behavior.

As an author, Rande has written Neurobranding: The Brain-Based Method to Make Your Brand Unforgettable and recently released Radical Value: Building Brands to be Uncannily Memorable. His writing style blends research-driven clarity with story-driven depth, pulling from neuroscience, psychology, and decades of work in the musical-instrument and professional-services industries.

In addition to his published writing, Rande is a speaker and advisor, sought out for his ability to translate complex science into practical brand strategy. He has been featured on podcasts like The Business of Story and Cut the Tie, and is in ongoing collaboration with Brandingmag Learn to develop a flagship course on Neurobrand Strategy.

Before launching VICK, Rande built a diverse career that included teaching, pastoring, and leading brand initiatives for global icons in the musical-instrument industry. His work has spanned everything from indie music startups to multi-million-dollar brands, always anchored in one conviction: brands that create memory create markets.

When he’s not writing or advising, Rande is often found exploring his twin passions for music and philosophy. He draws inspiration from 1960s and 70s futurism, Ziggy Stardust-era aesthetics, and the enduring power of story to shape culture.

At the core, Rande Vick’s journalism and thought leadership are about making the invisible visible – showing how unseen neurological patterns explain why some brands fade and others live forever in memory.
