Randy Pinocci: Colstrip must remain operational
With my re-election as Public Service Commissioner representing eastern Montana, I deeply appreciate the confidence placed in me by my constituents (67% vote; thank you!) and want to dedicate my election to a great grassroots supporter: Lonny Bergstrom of Lewistown, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. As a Commissioner, I am deeply concerned about the electric power shortages (brownouts and blackouts) that Montana is possibly facing this summer.

Conservative comeback brewing in Montana
by Brad Tschida & Randy Pinocci | June 7, 2020 1:00 AM Montana voters left no question which direction they want our state to go in 2020. This primary election was the beginning of the great “Conservative Comeback.” Llew Jones (R-Conrad) and the so-called “Conservative Solutions Caucus” were the biggest losers Tuesday night. Two of Jones’ top three deputies, Nancy Ballance (R-Hamilton) and Eric Moore (R-Miles City), went down by unfathomable margins many never saw coming.

Guest opinion: Stop NWE from 'double dipping' on costs
Every year, NorthWestern Energy customers pay millions of dollars for power generated by the power plants the company owns. The company then uses that money to repay shareholders who put up the capital to buy or build those plants. If the relationship between NorthWestern and its customers was that simple, there would not be a problem. Normal business relationships are something we can all be happy with.
