1 INTRODUCTION Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common cancer in males in the United Kingdom, accounting for approximately 27% of all newly diagnosed cancer cases in men in 2019.1 Age is a significant risk factor for PCa, with approximately 34% of all new PCa cases in the United Kingdom being diagnosed in men aged 75 and over (2016–2018).1 This demographic shift may affect healthcare resource allocation and the development of treatment strategies.
