Parents in a village in Oswestry in Shropshire have told ITV News Central they're scared for their children who will have to walk on a "seriously dangerous" towpath to and from school. A free bus service in Weston Rhyn has been in service for nearly 40 years to get children from the village to the nearest secondary school, St Martin's. But from September, any new children joining the school will not be allowed on the bus.

A former gang member has spoken with ITV Central reporter Ravneet Nandra about how he left a life of stabbings, shootings, and drug dealing behind - and is encouraging others to do the same. Being involved in gang violence affects the rest of your life, says a teenager who was previously involved in stabbings, shootings, robberies and supplying drugs. 'Harry', which isn't his real name, was helped by the Midlands Langar Seva Society.

ITV News Central Reporter Ravneet Nandra spent the day with Olya and her son Kyrylo who fled Ukraine in 2023 to Redditch in Worcestershire Councils in the Midlands are struggling to place Ukrainians in homes as the demand remains high but the number of homes and hosts available have dwindled. The Homes for Ukraine scheme began in 2022, where residents who had a spare room opened up their homes to Ukrainians, to offer a safe refuge.
