1 Introduction Mathematical models of cardiac electrophysiology are highly useful in understanding the propagation of electrical signals in the heart tissue. These models are used to study the effects of various physiological and pathological conditions, such as cardiac arrhythmias, on the electrical activity of the heart and to develop new therapeutic strategies for their treatment. The most popular cardiac models are the monodomain and bidomain models, which work well to simulate healthy tissue.

Dispersed multiphase flows in the presence of a particle phase with heat and mass transfer occur in numerous natural and industrial problems such as volcanic ash plumes [1], dust explosions [2], rocket propulsion [3], [4], cooling of electronic components [5], [6], cooling in space environments [7], greenhouse gas control [8], and biofuel combustion [9].

1 Introduction Land models simulate the terrestrial component of the Earth System. The processes in land models include thermodynamics, hydrology, and biogeochemistry, which are typically described by partial differential equations. Land models are used for a myriad of applications, including quantifying sustainable water supplies and predicting water-related hazards.
