With around $1 billion in planned investment in and around Colorado’s Steamboat Ski Resort, there’s one development that locals can’t stop talking about. It’s a $550 million bet on ground that sat empty for nearly 15 years. The real estate in question is a plaza with ski-in, ski-out access to the resort. It used to be called Ski Time Square. It was demolished in 2008 to make room for luxury condos, but between the Great Recession and expired building permits, redevelopment never happened.
