The Imoca class racing yachts must comply with the limits of box rule – but with considerable scope for design. The designers exploit this design space time and time again with great performance gains for the racing yachts. The most striking innovations of recent times are the foils, the scow bow and the slanted twin rudders. For the 2026 season, all eyes will be on the identical new buildings in the Antoine Koch designs for Boris Herrmann, Thomas Ruyant and Loïs Berrehar.
