What does it mean to be a journalist?
I think, generally, it means encouraging people to think. But different people in media interpret that in vastly different ways.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
In writing, via e-mail. Never in the comments to an Instagram post of my dog.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
A mechanical gaming keyboard with loud clacky keys. It ensures that no one comes near me when I'm writing.

The text chain where my wife and I send each other pictures of our dog.

Why did you become a journalist?
To counter misinformation and shed light on uncomfortable truths about our world.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did, and there's a whole long story to it. If you ever find me in-person with a drink in hand, you're free to ask for it.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes, but take accountability for them when you do.
