ITHACA, NY -- The Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) continues to remain a focal point for recreation and connection within the community with its efforts to provide virtual programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in April of last year, then-Poet Laureate Melissa Tuckey reached out to the TCPL to put on a virtual haiku workshop. Since its success, the TCPL has continued to move its past events to online as well as provide new events with and without a literary focus.

ITHACA, NY -- Tam and Christine Lam, daughters of the beloved owners of Saigon Kitchen on West State Street in downtown Ithaca, have opened their own cafe on Restaurant Row. Taking over the space left behind by Mediterranean restaurant Sahara, which closed in 2018, Hound and Mare is a deviation from the Vietnamese roots of its owners. Christine just recently returned from L.A., where she spent the past four years.

ITHACA, NY -- While COVID and the winter season may seem to place significant restrictions on being able to go out and participate in your favorite activities, local organizations such as the Ithaca Youth Bureau (IYB) and Cass Park Rink have altered their safety protocols to offer fun youth and adult recreational activities for the winter season. The IYB Recreation Department boasts recreational youth programming year-round for both indoors and the outdoors.
