New research published today in the Annals of Emergency Medicine (“Anticipated Changes in Reimbursements for U.S. Outpatient Emergency Department Encounters After Health Reform”) forecasts just how much emergency department reimbursements could improve under the ACA, assuming typical reimbursement patterns continue.

CMS reschedules Hospital VBP call for Feb. 28

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services plans to hold its reschedule National Provider Call on Tuesday, Feb. 28 to discuss its Dry Run of the Fiscal Year 2013 Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program. The call will take place 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm ET, and discussion will focus on performance standards, measures and dimensions, and performance scoring. Jun 26, 2009 According to a note from the American Hospital Association, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has sent an e-mail to hospitals reminding those facilities participating in the Medicare pay-for-reporting program that they will have from July 1 to Aug. 15 to report whether they participate in a systematic database for cardiac surgery.
