A Rancho Cucamonga couple has removed a Halloween decoration after receiving a complaint that it was either racist, politically insensitive, or perhaps both. The display featured a black skeleton hanging below the American flag on a flagpole in their front yard. A neighbor complained to KTLA 5 News that the skeleton appeared to be painted black and was hanging from “a noose by the neck” – a scene that he interpreted as a lynching.

Workers protest rat infestation at Subway restaurant in Los Angeles Original

An ongoing problem with rats and rat droppings has led to the closure of a Los Angeles Subway sandwich shop and a demonstration against the owner by employees. Workers held “fast food workers on strike” signs as they participated in a brief rally outside the store on 4919 Eagle Rock Blvd. Thursday afternoon. Eva Rodriguez told KTLA’s Rick Chambers that the infestation has been going on for about a year, but complaints from workers have been ignored.

Crowds flock to Southern California to watch Mater Dei take on St. John Bosco

The two best high school football teams in the Golden State are located right here in Southern California, and they met head-to-head on the gridiron Friday night. Thousands were in attendance Friday night at St. John Bosco High School’s Panish Family Stadium to watch the Braves take on the Mater Dei High School Monarchs in what has become one of the most riveting high school football games in the country.
