ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- State police are investigating a crash that happened Wednesday afternoon in Allentown. Authorities say that at approximately 1:06 p.m., troopers from the Bethlehem Station were dispatched to the intersection of North 6th Street and Cedar Street for a reported crash. Upon investigation, it was determined that a car operated by a 24-year-old Allentown man was driving at a high rate of speed, according to state police. That car went through a stop sign and broadsided another car.

Some bad news at the pump, as unleaded gas is now back above an average of $4 a gallon. It's happening right in the middle of the summer travel season. One contributing factor is that on Monday, the government reported that the Strategic Oil Reserve is at its lowest level since 1983. 69 News spoke with an expert at GasBuddy.com, who said the longer this goes on, the more difficult it gets for everyone. The Strategic Oil Reserve releases about 5 million barrels of oil per week.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A 68-year-old woman is dead after a fire broke out at a house in Allentown Tuesday morning, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Crews responded to the 400 block of Jerome Street after the fire broke out around 9:30 a.m.. At 9:37 a.m., the first arriving company found fire showing on the side of the home and declared a working fire. "A second alarm was then called for more hands.
