MOSCOW — The Idaho Board of Education appointed Moscow native C. Scott Green as the 19th president of the University of Idaho. Green is currently the global chief operating and financial officer at Hogan Lovells, one of the largest law firms in the world. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting at the University of Idaho in '84 and earned a master's in general management from Harvard Business School in '89. Green was inducted into the U of I Hall of Fame in 2009.
U.S. Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, announced Wednesday the retirement of his longtime Chief of Staff John Sandy, and named John Insinger as his replacement. Sandy, 70, has been working with Risch in Idaho politics for three decades, serving as a senator in the Idaho Legislature from 1995 to 2002 before chairing the Idaho Republican Party.
