Setauket honors the fallen at Memorial Day ceremony Residents filled the grounds of Setauket Veterans Memorial Park at the intersection of Route 25A and Shore Road on Memorial Day. Although the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3054 canceled its annual Memorial Day parade due to rain, the post’s yearly wreath-laying ceremony still took place at the park.

Village of Port Jefferson celebrates nature at 3rd annual Arbor Day Celebration One North Shore village recently honored the importance of trees. The Port Jefferson Village Tree Committee hosted its third annual Arbor Day Celebration at Harborfront Park on April 22.

Gallery North breaks ground on Terence Netter Creative Center A groundbreaking for Gallery North’s Terence Netter Creative Center was held on Thursday, April 16. The new building, to be constructed on the art gallery’s property at 90 North Country Road in Setauket, will double exhibition space, and feature a community art library, green space and a café . The center’s namesake is the late artist, teacher, philosopher and former president of Gallery North, Terence Netter, who passed away in 2018.
