MATTOON (JG-TC) -- The City Council is scheduled tonight to consider promoting a staff member to fill an engineering technician position.Waste Water Treatment Plant operator Ethan Ervin would be promoted to this position, effective Oct. 30. Ervin has been assisting with the construction supervision at the combined sewer overflow satellite treatment facility along North Sixth Street. He has also been handling some special assignments for the city's engineering office.
MATTOON (JG-TC) -- One person was injured as the result of a structure fire Monday morning on South 16th Street.The Mattoon Fire Department reported in a press release that firefighters responded at 6:45 a.m. to this fire at 705 S. 16th St. Upon arrival at the scene, fire crews reported finding smoke throughout the residence and an active fire in an upstairs bedroom. Fire crews entered the structure, and worked to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to the upstairs bedroom.
Jacob D. Beck of Mattoon was injured when his motorized bicycle was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle driven by Gary E. Shields of Mattoon at 9:24 a.m. Saturday at North 15th Street and Broadway Avenue. A Mattoon Fire Department ambulance took Beck to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Vehicles driven by Crystal L. Presley of Mattoon and Samantha N. Tilford of Mattoon collided at 3:03 p.m. Friday at South 15th Street and Walnut Avenue.

Find results that mention multiple specified terms, use AND or

Exact case matching or punctuation
If you're searching for a brand name or keyword that relies on specific punctuation marks or capitalization, you can
find results that match your exact query by adding matchcase: before the keyword you're searching for, like matchcase:E*TRADE .
Use parentheses to separate multiple
boolean phrases. For example, to find journalists talking about having fun in Disney World or
Disneyland, search for ("disney world" OR disneyland) AND fun.
An asterisk can be used to search for any variation of a root word truncated by the asterisk. For example, searching for admin* will return results for administrator, administration, administer, administered, etc.
A near operator is an AND operator where you can control the distance between the words. You can vary the distance the near operation uses by adding a forward slash and number (between 0-99) such as strawberries NEAR/10 "whipped cream", which means the strawberries must exist within 10 words of "whipped cream".
