I attended Lawtech UK’s “GenerativeAI Series: Roadmap to 2030” event held at the Law Society earlier this week, with panels expertly chaired by Christina Blacklaws (she/her) and Richard Susskind. I was amazed though to hear that almost all legal tech start-ups aim their businesses at in-house legal departments and SMEs – not law firms. The few that do work with law firms focus effort on limited point solutions, explicitly not anything disruptive of business models.
ESG mountains and molehills
Some years ago, I was invited by one of the leading Danish law firms to their annual partners conference. We spent a great day together, exploring how the practice and business of law is evolving and how that might impact their firm. Afterwards, the driver of the car taking me from Aarhus back to the airport pointed to a nondescript hill some distance from the road. “That,” he said, “is Ejer Baunehøj, the highest point in Denmark.” He was wrong, so I discovered.

He married Lois Gardner on Dec. 21, 1956 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Late composer Pierre Boulez held festival record, considered Ojai an ‘artistic home’
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Pierre Boulez, the former principal conductor of the New York Philharmonic and a longtime Ojai Music Festival collaborator who moved between conducting, composition and teaching over a career that made him one of the leading figures in modern classical music, has died at age 90. Boulez, who had been unable to conduct recently due to increasing eye problems, died "peacefully" Tuesday at his home in Baden-Baden, Germany, said his assistant Marion Thiem.
