Impact of Realistic 3D Tumor Microarchitecture on Cellular Dosimetry and Radiobiological Response in Targeted Radionuclide Therapy
Abstract Background: Patient-specific dosimetry in targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) is increasingly supported by quantitative imaging; however, voxel-scale dose estimates cannot resolve cellular and subcellular heterogeneity present within tumor tissue. Conventional cellular dosimetry models often represent cells as regularly packed spheres, which may not capture realistic tumor microarchitecture.

Long guidewire peripheral intravenous catheters in emergency departments for management of difficult intravenous access: A multicenter, pragmatic, randomized controlled trial
INTRODUCTION Peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) insertion is a core clinical skill for emergency department (ED) clinicians.1 Traditionally, short PIVCs (length < 4 cm) have been the first choice in EDs to deliver IV fluid and medications, obtain blood samples, or administer contrast for scans.2 Establishing reliable vascular access can be difficult, with up to a quarter (15%–26%) of ED patients described as having difficult IV access (DIVA) often related to obesity or medical conditions...

Effect of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on chlamydia and gonorrhoea notifications and testing in Queensland, Australia: an interrupted time series analysis
Discussion Our study examined notifications and testing of gonorrhoea and chlamydia across 2015–2021. After COVID-19 restrictions were introduced in Queensland, there was an immediate decline in chlamydia notifications and combined testing among both males and females. Gonorrhoea notifications were the only studied outcome with a sustained reduction in notifications to the end of 2021. We observed an immediate drop and continued decline for gonorrhoea notifications among males.
Antimicrobial susceptibility assays for Neisseria gonorrhoeae: a proof-of-principle population-based retrospective analysis
Summary Background Neisseria gonorrhoeae treatment guided by molecular antimicrobial susceptibility assays could improve treatment options and antimicrobial stewardship; however, few commercial assays are available. We aimed to investigate antimicrobial susceptibility of N gonorrhoeae isolates in New South Wales, Australia, and estimate the potential usefulness of hypothetical combinations of rapid molecular antimicrobial susceptibility assays.

FTC investigating price discrimination under long-dormant Robinson-Patman Act
For the first time in decades, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) opened a preliminary investigation for potential price discrimination under the Robinson-Patman Act (Act). The FTC is investigating Coca-Cola’s and PepsiCo’s pricing strategies in the soft drink industry. For at least the last month, it has been reaching out to large retailers to seek data and other information on how they purchase and price soft drinks.
Impacts of the COVID‐19 pandemic, and of government responses to the pandemic, on people who are homeless in Australia: Mapping perceptions of a national sample of homelessness service workers
Abstract People who are homeless are disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and by government responses to the pandemic. This study maps the perceptions of homelessness service workers in Australia, about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and government responses to it on people who are homeless. An electronic survey was distributed to homelessness service across Australia in June/July 2020, following Australia's ‘first wave’ of COVID-19.
Early detection of developmental delay in infants born very preterm or with very low birthweight
Baseline measures Baseline measures were administered between birth and 16 weeks corrected age. Perinatal data and social and demographic characteristics were collected from hospital charts and maternal questionnaires. Between 34 and 35 weeks gestational age, infants were assessed in the neonatal unit using the Premie-Neuro Examination (P-NE) and the GMA. After discharge, they returned to the hospital for GMA at 2, 5, 11 to 12, and 16 weeks corrected age.
The effect of azithromycin on structural lung disease in infants with cystic fibrosis (COMBAT CF): a phase 3, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial
Background Structural lung disease and neutrophil-dominated airway inflammation is present from 3 months of age in children diagnosed with cystic fibrosis after newborn screening. We hypothesised that azithromycin, given three times weekly to infants with cystic fibrosis from diagnosis until age 36 months, would reduce the extent of structural lung disease as captured on chest CT scans.

Worthy Point of View: Identity theft emerging as latest pandemic threat in Worthington and beyond
As if the impacts of the COVID-19 coronavirus on our health, families, livelihoods and communities are not enough, there is a growing pandemic threat that has emerged and is affecting more people every day. This threat involves identity theft. Thieves are stealing personal information, including Social Security numbers, and applying for unemployment benefits or accessing credit cards or other financial accounts.
Techniques to select site of insertion for a peripheral intravenous catheter with vessel locating devices using light, sounds or tactile actions (or palpations)
Background Approximately 80% of patients admitted to acute hospitals have at least one peripheral intravenous catheter inserted during their admission, for the administration of fluids and medicines, and/or diagnostic tests, so the failure rate is concerning. New technology may decrease these rates even when used by inexperienced inserters. The choice of insertion site for an intravenous catheter is a known predictor of catheter failure.
Endemic Non-SARS-CoV-2 Human Coronaviruses in a Community-Based Australian Birth Cohort

Worthy Point of View: Worthington police value listening, learning, accountability
ROBERT WARE Monday Jun 15, 2020 at 6:05 PM Jun 16, 2020 at 3:12 PM Normally, this column would begin in, end with and be all about Worthington. But these aren't normal times, so I want to begin in Minneapolis with the tragic death of George Floyd. That incident is upsetting to us all -- police and civilians; white and Black; people of all colors and backgrounds. We understand the anger.
