Hulu is continuing to build out its animated comedy lineup by picking up the pitch for a brand new series called “Detective Agent Derek”. The new cop show is filtered through the internet’s weirdest subcultures. Every episode is structured like a serious crime drama — tackling murders, conspiracies, criminal organisations- but the lens is warped: Derek is a nunchuck-wielding, anime-obsessed neckbeard who should never be taken seriously… and yet the world treats him as an alpha saviour.

The CW & ESPN Expand Sports Coverage With August Launch

For sports fans, ESPN viewers are set to get an expansion of content via a new deal to bring CW Sports’ live events to the ESPN App from Tuesday, 4th August 2026. This new expansion will see more than 800 annual hours of CW Sports content broadcast live on The CW Network as well as streamed live on the ESPN App for viewers with an ESPN Unlimited subscription plan. Fans can activate the ESPN Unlimited plan through their TV or mobile providers in addition to a standalone subscription.

National Geographic Greenlights New Film Based On The “127 Hours” Story

Disney has announced details on a brand new untitled documentary film from National Geographic, which will be created by Academy Award-winning director James Marsh (“Man on Wire,” “The Theory of Everything”) and tell the story of gripping true story of Aron Ralston, who inspired the Academy Award-nominated Searchlight Pictures film “127 Hours”. The film will feature intimate, never-before-seen footage filmed by Ralston while he was pinned by a boulder in a remote Utah canyon.
