Antibody bivalency limits tumor penetration Another feature of conventional antibodies that works against their deeper penetration into tumors is their bivalent nature, resulting in a higher avidity for the target and, hence, their efficient trapping in regions of first antigen encounter, often in the immediate neighborhood of the vessels from which they extravasated.
