Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy chemometrics for ChemCam Mars in situ data analysis based on deep learning and pretrained-model-based transfer learning
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy chemometrics for ChemCam Mars in situ data analysis based on deep learning and pretrained-model-based transfer learning As an in situ and stand-off detection technique, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) has been successfully applied in Mars exploration, by installing the LIBS instrument on three Mars rover payloads, i.e. ChemCam, SuperCam and MarSCoDe. Effective analysis of the Mars in situ data requires high-performance LIBS chemometrics.
Beam quality evolution of a quasi-continuous-wave-pumped, passively Q-switched monolithic YAG/Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG microchip
We have proposed a method to predict the beam quality of a quasi-continuous-wave (QCW)-pumped, passively Q-switched (PQS) monolithic ${\rm YAG}/{\rm Nd}\!:\!{\rm YAG}/{{\rm Cr}^{4 +}}\!:\!{\rm YAG}$ microchip. The boundary conditions for the pulse width and optical intensity of the PQS microchip were obtained by solving the rate equations with different initial transmittances of the saturable absorber and reflectivities of the output coupler.

Inter-/intra-pulse dual-wavelength-operated mid-infrared optical parametric oscillator
We demonstrate a pulsed mid-infrared (MIR) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with both inter-pulse and intra-pulse dual-wavelength operation capability. A fiber master oscillator power amplifier incorporating an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) was employed as the pump for the OPO. By finely adjusting the drive wave packets for the AOTF, dual-wavelength pump can be realized within each pulse or between two adjacent pulses.
Enhanced Diffractive Circular Dichroism from Stereoscopic Plasmonic Molecule Array
Abstract : Artificial nanostructures with large optical chiral responses have been intensively investigated recently. In this work, we propose a diffractive circular dichroism enhancement technique using stereoscopic plasmonic molecule structures. According to the multipole expansion analysis, the z-component of the electric dipole becomes the dominant chiral scattering mechanism during the interaction between an individual plasmonic molecule and the plane wave at a grazing angle.

Concave aspheric test combining Dall with Offner null compensation using a plane wave
Abstract A plane wave aspheric surfaces test is simpler and easier to assemble than a spherical wave test. An optical system combining Dall with Offner null compensation using a plane wave is proposed for measuring large-aperture and large-relative-aperture aspheric concave surfaces. One back compensation lens and one front compensation lens are used in the system, which can realize a high-precision null test.

Single-longitudinal-mode-operated, passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG microchip laser with >100 kHz repetition rate and <400 ps pulse width
Abstract We report a comprehensive design procedure for passively $Q$-switched monolithic $\text{Nd}{:}\text{YAG}/{\text{Cr}^{4 + }}{:}\text{YAG}$ microchip lasers to realize operation conditions of the pulse repetition rate (PRR) ${ \gt } 100 \;\text{kHz}$ and pulse width (PW) ${ \lt }\, 400 \;\text{ps}$, simultaneously.
