SALT LAKE CITY — Police lifted evacuation orders in the neighborhoods previously threatened by the Sandhurst Fire above Ensign Peak on Sunday night. "After strong efforts by firefighting resources on the Sandhurst Fire, containment has been reached on the southern perimeter," Salt Lake police said in a statement. "Fire managers feel confident the fire will not progress further towards the community.

Estimated read time: Less than a minute THISTLE, Utah County — A head-on collision on U.S. 6 east of Thistle has sent one person to the hospital with critical injuries and closed the road in both directions for a time on Sunday evening, causing delays. A pickup traveling west left its lane and struck an eastbound Mazda head-on at about 5:40 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Chris Bishop said. The driver of the Mazda was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
