10 Vietnam War memes because dark humor is healthy, right?
Veterans are known for their great senses of humor, albeit sometimes completely morbid. But if you can’t laugh at it, how do you get through it? Sometimes the best way to heal is through humor. Here are 10 memes about the Vietnam War we think you’ll enjoy: 1. No Man Left Behind The “No man left behind” policy is fundamental to the U.S. military as it was initially attributed to the elite US Army Rangers who held to their creed of not leaving compatriots behind.
These military memes may increase retention rates
Mar 5, 2024 5:58 AM PST Memes make everything better. Sometimes, people just need to learn the hard way and their rank does not protect them from the hard facts of life. Those moments when the power-tripping senior is obliviously heading toward disaster, confidently incorrect in their assumption, is unceremoniously humbled, are those once-in-an-enlistment moment that are the chef's kiss of life. Sing it with me, Kelly Clarkson: For a moment like this, some people wait a lifetime.

Best memes of the week to laugh at and forget about IRR
Best memes of the week to laugh at and forget about IRR photo Getting recalled is something I would not wish upon my worst enemy. I would wish it upon my former platoon sergeant, though. F that guy, twice. Although getting green weenied on Individual Ready Reserve is no laughing matter, the memes have been fire. I'm not allowed to show my favorite one but the Squidward one below is a more PG version of it. Let's just say a lot of YouTube channels got demonetized recently and leave it at that.
16 Best military memes of the week to laugh at waiting for chow
R Nov 27, 2023 Yes, we’ve all heard the saying that Chow is Continuous. I’m going to let you in on an infantry secret:… Yes, we've all heard the saying that Chow is Continuous. I'm going to let you in on an infantry secret: the chow hall closes. My biggest pet peeve of being an 0311 was not the daily PT. It was missing chow because we would run to the other side of the earth and back. By the time you changed over, chow was closed.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at before morning PT
R Nov 16, 2023 Fall is my favorite season to run because of the scenery and the temperature is more manageable. You’re going to… Fall is my favorite season to run because of the scenery and the temperature is more manageable. You're going to get hot, that's part of working out, but in autumn, it's that perfect balance between not needing warming layers or just throwing on a hoodie. The afternoons are warm, and the nights are crisp or you may get a bit of early snow.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at while doing gear inspections
R Oct 27, 2023 While you’re waiting for your E-2’s to figure out how to use the compression sack, laugh at this list of best military memes of the week. It's that time of year when field ops grow in intensity as work ups progress on track for deployments. The world is also growing more unstable and the end of peacetime may be at hand. The majority of service members take training seriously from the get-go, but packing for the field must be adapted for each op.
16 best military memes of the week to laugh at while waiting for liberty call
Oct 16, 2023 Hurry up and wait with these 17 Best military memes of the week to laugh at while waiting for liberty call. Hurry up and wait is probably the most common, unwanted byproduct of the military. Some take a moment to phone home or take a nap. Others decide to PT, which I consider psychopathic behavior, but I digress. The most useful advice I received was to "get comfortable" and suddenly things start moving.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at while commanding police call
Sep 26, 2023 Check out this list of the best military memes of the week to laugh at while commanding police call. Everybody loses gear at some point. While it is rare, we're able to retrace our steps quickly enough we can recover the gear before anyone with BAH notices. One time we had to comb the desert because a doc lost his NVGs. When someone's lost their gear and now you have company-sized element searching for government property just know it means loss of rank.

Best military memes of the week to laugh at while waiting at the PX Original
R Sep 15, 2023 Need a laugh? Here are the best military memes of the week to laugh at while waiting at the PX. Marine Infantrymen are very proud of their MOS to the point where the absurd levels of motivation are a coping mechanism to any and all BS after a long period of time. It's always fun to mess with the new lieutenant, probably more so than the average boot. Yet, new officers are criticized for their degrees, quietly, on the enlisted side.
Best military memes of the week to go OFP
OFP is what Marines and some other branches refer to as ‘Own F’ing Program’. It’s a more elevated form of S.K.A.T.E., usually insulated from BS due to one’s rank or time in service. If you are unfamiliar with the acronym it stands for: Seek cover, Keep a low profile, Avoid working parties, Take no initiative, and Evade all higher ups. Essentially, OFP is when you can safely, openly skate and no one has the authority or the balls to confront you.

Best military memes of the week
Personally I believe the the best years of your service are the first four. You're with your friends since basic or at least they're still in and you can meet up with some of them. There's a lot of BS you have to deal with your first few ranks but there isn't as much responsibility relative to when you pick up rank later. Financially, you're free to spend it on stupid stuff without going into soul-crushing debt and ruining your life.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at waiting for field day inspection
Field day inspection was always a bittersweet event. On one hand, libo is about to be announced and hopefully, there is nothing else to do during the day. Formation at noon? Roger that! However, you most likely spent the prior evening cleaning your room or inspecting the rooms of your junior enlisted. The inspection, before the inspection, before the actual inspection.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at during white space training
It’s that magical time again. Children are banished back into the classrooms, boot drops hit the fleet, and libo is secured. Also, pumpkin spice is in season. Regardless of which version of death by PowerPoint-hell you’re experiencing for your annual training, you can always count on a boot to get chewed out to break up the monotony.

Best military memes of the week to laugh at while you hurry up and wait Original
R Aug 18, 2023 There are other healthier ways to let off some steam besides alcohol. Here are some military memes to laugh at while you hurry up and wait. I know it's taboo to speak up about mental health while on active duty but you can take a mental health day without placing a label on it. Sometimes instead of playing "hurry up and wait" at the barracks, I would go golfing on base to get away from all the enlisted BS and be on the wide open green.
Best memes of the week that will make you rethink reenlistment
There are multiple reasons to reenlist but your heart has to be in it. No amount of bonuses, steady paychecks or other incentives will make you feel good about serving if you are already counting the days. Maybe you have a bad command or you're stuck PCS'd somewhere awful. I get it. I do. Yet, those are passing things and you have to decide whether the next four years are in CIVDIV or information.
Best military memes to laugh at while waiting at the armory
Going to the armory to draw out your weapon and then clean it for hours is the equivalent of an adult daycare for grunts. They can't leave; they have to play with their toys until the adults get back. They are in a safe enclosure where they can't get in trouble - in theory. For some reason, they give Marines a hard time accepting weapons like we're going to pop sticks for the President. I know it's clean, you know it's clean... just take it and we can all get off work at a reasonable hour.
Best military memes of the week to drink water and change your socks to
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea fired several cruise missiles toward its western sea Saturday, South Korea’s military said, marking the second launch event this week apparently in protest of the docking of a nuclear-armed U.S. submarine in South Korea. While adding to its barrage of missile launches in recent months, North Korea remained publicly silent for a fifth day on the fate of an American soldier who bolted into the North across the heavily armed Korean border this week.

R SUMMARY Best military memes of the week to drink water and change your socks to. Read them all here on WATM. Enjoy! Interestingly enough, the Air Force has made some recent announcements about changes to PCSing, SDAP, SRB and even decisions that affect the IRR. From a Marine's perspective, it's interesting to see what the future will hold for the Air Men. Will the Air Force be to the Space Force what the Marines are to the Navy in terms of funding and benefits?
The best military and most patriotic memes of the week Original
R SUMMARY July is the most patriotic month of the year. Here are the best military, and most patriotic memes, to honor it. July is the most patriotic month of the year for the obvious reason that fireworks are abundantly available and there is no taboo of setting the sky on fire long into the night on Independence Day. My favorite 4th of July had to be when I was 13 looking for excitement in the streets of New York City with my cousins and some friends.
Best military memes of the week to laugh at while waiting for formation Original
R SUMMARY “The beating will continue until morale improves.” Here are the best military memes to laugh at while waiting for formation. "The beating will continue until morale improves." Every branch has their version of the good ol' 'bait and switch' to keep morale high. Don't get me wrong, there were some awesome moments in my Marine Corps career. There were some not-so-good ones too but we can suck it up. It's the lying that really makes it challenging. Just tell us, Gunny, be a straight shooter.
18 Best military memes of the week that will keep you awake on duty
Call me a nerd if you must, but when I was an E-3 and got stuck as the assistant duty NCO, I did my Marine Corps Institute classes. There are limited options for activities while on duty. I avoided being heckled for my single pizza stain ribbon awarded at boot camp with no real power. When you’re new and at the bottom of the totem pole, all you can do is damage control and not be a rat. What can a single boot do when Alpha company and Bravo company decide to brawl out in the quad?
The HISTORY Channel's 'FDR' is the perfect miniseries for 4th of July
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was one of the most, if not the most, influential Presidents America has ever had at its helm. The tough decisions he had to make still actively impact American lives and international relations. Every president since his tenure is measured by their first 100 days in office. President Roosevelt is a colossus, but before he was a titan, he was a man.
26 Best military memes of the week to laugh at on fire watch
R SUMMARY We’d rather get hazed than stand it for an hour, but here are the best military memes this week to help you stay awake during fire watch. One of the most consistently terrible experiences of my career before becoming an NCO was fire watch. It didn't matter if I had the first or last hour, or the ones in between, I hated it. All of it. Every time. Sure, you would be able to catch beautiful sunsets and sunrises and look up at nature in all its glory every once in a while.
27 Best military memes of the week
This week was a good week for demotivating-motivating memes from all over the internet. We have many to get through, feel free to throw one or two into your death-by-PowerPoint presentations about O&D. Here are the 25 best memes to look at on your phone while the boots rearrange the Quadcons. Half the time I did not know if it was tinnitus or just the side effects of the Green Weenie. Laugh it up because your leave got denied. Well, that escalated quickly.
13 memes that will *almost* make you want to reenlist
The military has a time-honored tradition across all branches of giving its troops a meritorious ass chewing for a job well done. Messing up is second nature for a brand new boot, stuck between the rigid instant obedience to orders and dwindling common sense. Anytime I read a new controversial regulation put into effect or a new-but-dumb way to solve an old problem, I metaphorically hug my DD-214 a little tighter.

14 Memes that would motivate even a terminal Lance Corporal this week
There comes a time in every field op when things change so much that all one can do is laugh hysterically at nothing with your battle buddies. Some of my most memorable moments when I was enlisted in the Marine Corps was when stuff just went completely wrong and we didn’t even have anything to shoot at. There was no way to blow off steam and everything at that one point went so out of our control we would just repeat how badly things were and damn near wet ourselves.

Best ways to prank your team leader
Every now and then the monotony of the Marine Corps needs to be shaken up a bit. I was once told by a Staff Sergeant that it’s not hazing if you and your team leader are the same rank. I’m pretty sure he was wrong but my boot drop ran with it. When you’re a E-3 and below there are not a lot of opportunities to get even when someone higher ranking than you has a bad day and decides to include you in it.
These 6 fictional characters were heavily influenced by their military experience
Hollywood does not always get the civilian-life side of the military right. The cliché of the wounded soldier telling his buddy that his last words to his wife are ‘I love you’ is overused for a reason. Most writers are not veterans and although their job is to create things no one has seen, a military background for a character is one of those things that can’t be BS’d. Veterans, especially recently or soon to be discharged, should look into a career in the film industry.
Gifts that are actually useful to gift your veteran this holiday season
When it comes to shopping for service members, there is a unique challenge: They usually just buy whatever they want. What do you gift someone who shops for themself the moment they got back from deployment or an extended op? Here are some gift ideas that are actually useful to gift your service member this holiday season. Field Chair A field chair is very similar to a standard lawn chair except that the color pallet is camouflage and usually in a tripod leg set up.
Coyote Attack Roundup: 8 More Reasons to Hate On Yotes
Everybody loves to hate coyotes. Since Lewis and Clark first “discovered” Canis latrans on their trailblazing exploration of the frontier, Americans have had a high-key beef with the animal the explorers dubbed a “prairie wolf.” That beef continues into the 21st century if you go by the number of “coyote attack” headlines that make the evening news nationwide. While coyotes are probably just trying to live their best lives, their predatory habits don’t do them any favors.
Exclusive interview with USAF (Ret) Colonel Nick Nichols from Folds of Honor Foundation
Folds of Honor, a military foundation that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces, earlier this year announced the distribution of nearly 9,000 academic scholarships worth approximately $40 million for 2022-23. Since its inception in 2007, Folds has awarded nearly 44,000 scholarships valued at nearly $200 million.
How Emergency Water Purification Tablets Work
Guaranteed access to clean water is not possible for most people around the world. Every human deserves clean drinking water, and with various methods available to neutralize pathogens possibly present in water, that’s certainly achievable. For most consumers, a clean water source with the addition of an elaborate filtration system is ideal for killing hazardous organism traces. However, purifying water is less pragmatic during emergencies or while traveling, especially when it needs to be carried.
Watch: 5 law enforcement heroes who succeeded due to their military experience
A career in law enforcement is often a dangerous and thankless job. Yet, for many veterans, the call to serve our nation goes beyond the camouflage uniform. Law enforcement officers – also known as LEOs – are not always very popular with the public. However, the experience veterans bring to the table of being able to keep calm under pressure and de-escalate life threatening situations is invaluable. Now, more than ever, America needs good cops to restore the trust of the people.
The Annapolis Cup is the unlikely croquet rivalry between the Naval Academy and St. John's College
The Annapolis Cup is an annual event between the students of St. John’s College and the U.S. Naval Academy. The origins of the friendly competition stem from the early 80s in order to establish friendly relationships between the two schools. Ironically enough, despite being across the street from each other, the two student bodies rarely interact. The midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy won this year’s Cup after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. What is the Annapolis Cup all about?
4 reasons why the artist Marine is the most fun unofficial billet in the military
The military has a way of creating jobs that don’t technically exist to fill in the gaps of the American War Machine. We’re not talking about top secret projects at the forefront of national security. Art is one of the unlikely but necessary needs of the Marine Corps. Volunteering to be an artist Marine for a working party has some of the most fun and rewarding tasks one can do. You would be surprised how many things the brass would rather give to not just anybody but they still need somebody.
6 Made-in-the-USA: best gifts by veteran-owned companies
The quality of made-in-the-USA products has earned a trusted reputation in recent years. While overseas manufacturing boasts lower costs, increasing instability of distribution lines by political unrest has caused shipments to at times be delayed for months or cancelled. Buying American directly helps the economy by supporting veteran-owned companies that provide quality items or services.
Before Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer, he was in the Army
Netflix is known for taking risks on producing content with their word-of-mouth marketing strategy built into their platform. Not surprisingly, Dahmer, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has stirred up dormant emotions around the nation. Evan Peters plays Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, with striking accuracy to the killer’s mannerisms and likeness.
This is why oak leaves are usually reserved for military officers
Military officers have a selfless character as they shed blood to provide defense for our country. They make multiple compromises in living normal lives, putting their lives on the line, and staying away from their families for a long time. While on the battlefield, soldiers show acts of heroism, gallantry, meritorious service, and bravery as they tackle the country’s enemies in the performance of their duties of enabling national security.
This is why troops should use amber colored eye protection more often
Expert shooters understand the importance of ballistic eye protection when using a gun. The goal is always to fire safely, and just as a nice pair of noise-canceling earmuffs will shield your hearing, a dependable pair of ballistic eyeglasses will ensure your sight is flawless. The lenses available in various colors, forms, and kinds may be overwhelming. You might confuse it for taste and preference, but it is a matter of safeguarding the eyes.
This is how much better the modern troop helmet is compared to others in history
PPE also known as Personal Protective Equipment is one of the first things a troops learns to use. Some troops choose not to wear certain PPE such as hearing protection, even against orders, but everyone wears their helmet. During the second World War, over 22 million M1 helmets were manufactured and distributed to American armed forced stationed all over Europe. The PASGT Kevlar helmet, introduced in the 1980’s, has improved the design and adapted to the flaws of it’s predecessor.
This is why wine was a warrior's drink for most of history
For millennia warriors consumed alcohol in the form of wine, thus it became intertwined into military traditions. The exquisite taste, nutritional benefits, and, not least, psychoactive effects all contribute to our natural affinity for this drink. No other alcoholic beverage has had such a profound social influence. The wine trade allowed religious and philosophical thoughts to flow across Europe.
