I began in community journalism with a position as the Pikeville Bureau Chief for the Williamson Daily News in 1999, before moving to my current home at the Appalachian News-Express in 2000. After stints both inside and outside the news business, I returned to the News-Express as a staff writer in 2007 and was named editor in November, 2011.
