SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Neighbors organize against a new solar farm coming to St. Joseph County. A group called Rethink Industrial Solar is pushing against plans to install solar panels on 2500 acres of farmland near North Liberty. A full house gathered at Thursday night's meeting regarding the proposed 300-megawatt solar farm in North Liberty. Amanda Mitchell who started Rethink Industrial Solar is concerned about its close proximity to Potato Creek State Park.

ELKHART, Ind. -- Police say a two-year-old boy was rescued from the St. Joseph River Wednesday afternoon. One bystander is being hailed as a hero Wednesday when he saw a two-year-old boy floating in the St. Joseph River. That man acting, jumping into the river, and grabbing the child, despite the strong current. “From what I know now, two years old like that's terrible and to hear he's still alive, that makes it all good, yeah, I'm basically crying right now,” said bystander.

BRISTOL, Ind. -- Two houses caught fire Monday afternoon with five different agencies on scene, working to control the flames. As of now, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters were out here for over five hours trying to battle this blaze. It’s not exactly clear how this fire started, but residents out here say one of the houses that went up in flames had some historical significance.
