What was your first job as a journalist?
I worked with VCU's Capital News Service for two amazing semesters.

Social media makes news more accessible.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Maybe it's an unpopular pick, but I'm a big fan of Eddie Brock.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Telling the truth. Giving people the full picture. Providing resources to those who need them. Helping people make informed decisions.
Who do you wish followed you?
Philip DeFranco. He inspires me every day to keep on keeping on as a journalist.
Why did you become a journalist?
I think being able to get important information into peoples' hands is one of the coolest things I could spend my time doing.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am very, very proud of the article on a Caroline County land debate. Rolynn Wilson and I collaborated and produced some amazing journalism.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Just keep writing. And don't give up just because something looks hard. You do the hard work so people can benefit from your reporting.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Let's be honest ... in my bed. Or in the kitchen cooking up something delicious for the family.
