What was your first job as a journalist?
Well, it's just a hobby still, but I used to write our communication pieces for our local Chamber and handled their marketing channels

been many years ago - took it in highschool
How is social media changing news?
really tightening up the echo chambers; and narrowing the field of vision

hrmm... Peter Parker? Rory Gilmour?
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means sharing your insights on your passion with others so that they can have an informed opinion.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
oh years ago... there was one I can't remember now, but it had to do with 'leaks' for phones and there was some 'leakgate' type
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
An email with a brief description on what it is, why it aligns with my site - but just enough to tease me to go and google it on my own.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Anything 'google' (blogger, drive, etc...)

if i have to choose... facebook, but i really don't want to

Why did you become a journalist?
I am passionate about a few things and people were turning to me for my thoughts or recommendations.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope - don't think we had one
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I do like writing my longer review articles on a device I know will be my daily driver
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Structure your passion - it's too easy to get wrapped up in it and overwhelmed and then become a slave to it.
When's the best time to pitch you?
any - just I may not get to read it until late some days
What's the best pitch you ever got?
I've loved how google has handled their PR - but Sony once sent a package that included popcorn, a (fake) passport to really sell their even.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
tons of gambling sites
What's your favorite drink?
Irn Bru... or coffee... or a local craft beer
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
cycling, camping, bagpiping
