Is hip joint range of motion associated with bony morphology in elite male Australian Football League draftees?
Introduction: Cam and/or pincer morphology has been proposed to play a key role in the development of hip-related pain and early hip OA in football players. There is currently no clinical measure to predict cam or pincer morphology, making identification of bony morphology reliant on imaging. Being able to identify bony morphology through clinical testing could reduce the need for imaging in young athletes and enable early detection which may prevent these players from developing symptoms.
Obtaining a high titer of polyclonal antibodies from rats to the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein and its N- and C-terminal domains for diagnostic test development
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a virus of zoonotic origin initially identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. This virus is part of the genus Betacoronavirus, family Coronaviridae (Zhu et al., 2020; Cui et al., 2019; Wu et al., 2020; Su et al., 2016).
Minimizing Repeat Surgeries for Endometrioma: Impact of Surgical Intervention by Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeons
Study Objective The objective of this study is to determine whether patients who are diagnosed with ovarian endometrioma(s) on imaging undergo fewer total surgeries for treatment of their endometrioma and endometriosis if the initial surgery is performed a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) specialists compared to a general obstetrician-gynecologist. Design Single center, IRB-approved retrospective chart review. Setting Academic, tertiary care institution in the United States.
M302 TOMATILLO ALLERGY: A UNIQUE CASE
The tomatillo, also known as the Mexican husk tomato, is commonly used in a variety of dishes, especially in salsa verde. IgE-mediated allergy to tomatillo is rare. We report a case of a male with anaphylaxis to tomatillo. M293 MORE THAN SKIN DEEP: SEVERE DERMATITIS, ELEVATED IGE, AND EOSINOPHILIA WITH HETEROZYGOUS DOCK8 MUTATIONS
Introduction Hyper IgE syndromes (HIES) are a group of primary immunodeficiencies characterized by elevated IgE, severe dermatitis, and recurrent skin and sinopulmonary infections. DOCK8 deficiency is an autosomal recessive type of HIES. We present two patients with atopic dermatitis, elevated IgE level, and eosinophilia consistent with DOCK8 deficiency, both found to have a heterozygous variant of uncertain significance (VUS) in DOCK8.
Correspondence to “Denosumab-induced hypocalcemia in patients with osteoporosis: can you know who will get low?”
Editor, We read with great interest the study by Tsvetov [1] which has reported higher actual rates of denosumab-induced hypocalcaemia and recommend serum calcium monitoring in high-risk patients for early detection of severe hypocalcaemia. Denosumab is used in the treatment of osteoporosis in patients whom first-line agents are ineffective, poorly tolerated, or contraindicated such as in chronic kidney disease.

Title The Conditional Effects of Stress on Delinquency and Drug Use: A Strain Theory Assessment of Sex Differences Authors John P. Hoffmann, Brigham Young University - ProvoFollow S. Susan Su Keywords adolescents, individual-level strain theory, stress, delinquency, drug use Abstract Agnew's reconceptualization of individual-level strain theory has suggested several ways in which stress among adolescents affects delinquent behavior.
"Changes in network characteristics and HIV risk behavior among injecti" by John P. Hoffmann, S. Susan Su et al.
Home > Faculty Publications > 3952 Authors John P. Hoffmann, Brigham Young University - ProvoFollow S. Susan Su, National Opinion Research Center Alfred Pach, Emory University Keywords injection drug user, HIV risk behaviors, social networks, network changes Abstract Studies indicate that HIV risk behaviors vary greatly among injection drug users (IDUs). The source of such variation is often ascribed to individual differences, but much of it is due to how IDUs are grouped into social networks.

A divergent transcriptional landscape underpins the development and functional branching of MAIT cells
Charting MAIT cell development Mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells are a distinct subset of T cells that recognize vitamin B metabolites presented by MHC class I–related protein (MR1). Here, using bulk and single-cell RNA- seq and flow cytometric analysis, Koay et al. have characterized the development of murine and human MAIT cells.
The efficacy and safety of menatetrenone in the management of osteoporosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Original Article First Online: 07 February 2019 Abstract Summary In our systematic review and meta-analysis, we comprehensively evaluated menatetrenone in the management of osteoporosis. We found that menatetrenone decreased the ratio of undercarboxylated osteocalcin to osteocalcin (ucOC/OC) and improved lumbar BMD compared with placebo based on the 18 studies assessed. However, its benefit in fracture risk control was uncertain.
Strategies for reducing peri-operative blood loss in total knee arthroplasty
Increased attention has been given to the management of blood loss following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) during the last decade, due to the realisation that peri-operative blood loss can be a modifiable outcome that affects patient satisfaction and outcome. With less blood loss, the patient’s post-operative mobilisation can be improved.
Strategies for reducing peri-operative blood loss in total knee arthroplasty
AbstractDuring the last ten years, greater attention has been given to the management of peri-operative blood loss after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), as it is a modifiable outcome that has a significant effect on the rate of complications, the recovery, and the economic burden. Blood loss after TKA has been greatly reduced during this time, thereby dramatically reducing the rates of allogeneic transfusion.

Dietary epigallocatechin 3-gallate supplement improves maternal and neonatal treatment outcome of gestational diabetes mellitus: a double-blind randomised controlled trial - Zhang - 2017 - Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics - Wiley Online Library
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is an increasing prevalent health risk in pregnant women. Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) is known to benefit the insulin secretory machinery. We aimed to investigate the effect of daily dietary EGCG supplementation on both the maternal and neonatal treatment outcomes in GDM-affected pregnancies. In total, 472 pregnant women during their third trimester of pregnancy were diagnosed with GDM and subsequently enrolled into this trial.
