Methodological Concerns Regarding the Association Between Creatinine/Cystatin C Ratio and ADL Disability Trajectories
Dear Editor, We read with interest Wu et al.'s report on the inverse association between CCR and ADL disability trajectories. While their 10-year longitudinal CHARLS cohort design provides valuable population-based observational data, we raise four critical methodological concerns that limit the reliability and clinical translation of their core conclusions [1]. First, renal function adjustment is insufficient.

Hydroclimate controls Congo peatland net oxygen release over the past 10,600 years
Abstract The burial of organic matter in marine environments is considered the dominant long-term source of atmospheric oxygen, yet the contribution of terrestrial burial remains poorly constrained. Quantifying any oxygen surplus associated with organic matter burial conventionally assumes a 1:1 oxygen-to-carbon stoichiometry. Here we aim to test this assumption and quantify net oxygen release from a terrestrial setting over time.

Radio emissions reveal Alfvénic activity and electron acceleration prior to substorm onset - Nature Communications
Abstract Magnetospheric substorms are among the most dynamic phenomena in the Earth’s magnetosphere, yet their triggering mechanisms remain unclear. Ground-based observations have identified wave-like aurora as precursors to substorms.
DR-RAG: Domain-Rule-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation for aviation digital model design
Introduction Aviation design and manufacturing represent a highly intricate and challenging process. Every stage from the overall layout and aerodynamic design of the aircraft demands extensive professional knowledge and rich experience such as engines, avionics and flight controls. In the traditional aviation manufacturing design paradigm, designers primarily rely on personal experience, manual calculations and a limited set of design tools.

Cancer remains a global health crisis, accounting for millions of deaths annually. Various biotic and environmental factors are associated with the growth of different types of cancers [1], [2]. Infectious agents play important role in the progress and development of many types of cancer such as prostate cancer, colon cancer, bladder cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, hepatic cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) [3], [4].
Creating dynamic leakage-free paths using coarse-graining techniques in the presence of decoherence
We present a method aimed at protecting unitary dynamics in the presence of decoherence, by integrating leakage elimination operators (LEOs) into the system's evolution to create dynamical leakage-free paths. Deriving the dynamical equation for an open quantum system with general drives can be challenging. Our approach avoids the rotating wave approximation and instead uses the coarse-grained averaging technique to derive a quantum master equation for such systems.
Waste plastics to prepare eutectogel: Wearable, highly deformable, transparent flexible ionic conductors
As an emerging technological research direction, flexible devices have made significant progress. Due to the frequent bending, stretching and other deformations that flexible devices are subjected to during use, making it a relatively important technical point with high energy density and high stability, they have been selected for this project.

Steady state engineering of a two-level system by the mixed-state inverse engineering scheme - Scientific Reports
Abstract The mixed-state inverse engineering scheme is a control scheme used for engineering the quantum state of a driven open quantum system from an initial steady state to a final steady state. In this paper, we present an analytical study of this scheme applied to the driven two-level model coupled to a heat reservoir. Typically, when the purity of the quantum state varies, incoherent control techniques are required for mixed-state engineering.
Mechanically strong and fully transparent PMMA composite with greatly improved toughness and impact strength incorporating PEBA nanofibrils
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is a versatile and widely used amorphous thermoplastic that has gained prominence in various industries due to its impressive array of properties. The combination of high strength, high stiffness, optical transparency, weather resistance, full recyclability, good processability, and high biocompatibility has led to its widespread use in the automotive, aerospace, construction, furniture, and healthcare industries [1].

Effect of quantum jumps on non-Hermitian systems
One possible realization of non-Hermitian systems is based on open quantum systems by omitting quantum jumping terms in the master equation. This is a good approximation at short times where the effects of quantum jumps can be ignored. However, the jumps can affect the long-time dynamics of the system, motivating us to take the jumps into account in these studies. In this paper, by treating the quantum jumps as perturbations, we examine the effect of the quantum jumps on the non-Hermitian system.

Trajectory tracking for non-Markovian quantum systems
Abstract We propose a systematic scheme to engineer quantum states of a quantum system governed by a time-convolutionless non-Markovian master equation. According to the idea of reverse engineering, the general algebraic equation to determine the control parameters, such as coherent and incoherent control fields, is presented.

When combined, acute coagulation activation occurs post-exercise.
Association Between PPIs and Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Background: Proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use has been reported to be associated with liver damage and might possibly be carcinogenic. Aims: We examined whether long–term PPI use increases the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients without viral hepatitis B or C. Methods: We conducted a nested case–control study in a cohort of patients without viral hepatitis in Taiwan from 2000 to 2013. In total, 29 473 HCC cases and 294 508 matched controls were included.

Physiological and pathological characterization of capsaicin‐induced reversible nerve degeneration and hyperalgesia
After 2‐week capsaicin treatment, IENF density of skin was markedly reduced with reduced amplitude and prolonged latency of CHEP, and increased warm and heat pain thresholds. The time courses of skin nerve regeneration and reversal of physiology and psychophysics were different: IENF density was still lower at 10 weeks after capsaicin treatment than that at baseline, whereas CHEP amplitude and warm threshold became normalized within 3 weeks after capsaicin treatment.

Study on the contactless data transmission for ocean underwater vertical sensor structure
Ocean underwater vertical sensor structure is a kind of modern marine observation platform. But most of the current ocean sensors work independently, and it lacks a suitable method to assemble them in a control system. Having good expansibility and convenient structure, the ocean buoy platform with contactless data transmission technology is possible to organise a long-term, real-time and autonomous working observation network.
