Engineering yeast to convert lignocellulose into vanillin
Introduction Lignocellulosic biomass (LCB) is renewable and abundant resource that can be valorized into high value-added products, which has great significance for bioeconomic benefits and sustainable development [1], [2], [3]. Monosaccharides, mainly including glucose and xylose, can be generated from cellulose and hemicellulose in LCB. These monosaccharides are the promising feedstocks for both microbial growth and valuable product synthesis in a biorefinery.
