PIERCE COUNTY (WQOW) - The non-profit "Grassroots Organizing Western Wisconsin, known as GROWW, is celebrating after a major legal challenge against a factory farm in Pierce County was ruled in their favor. Members believe this decision will have an impact for all Wisconsin farmers moving forward. "This is kind if a David vs. Goliath fight," explained Phil Verges, a GROWW member and Spring Valley farmer.

Mr. Kitty's Cat Cafe celebrates 500th adoption

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Mr. Kitty's Cat Cafe in downtown Eau Claire adopts out about five cats per week. But on Tuesday morning they hit a special milestone and celebrated its 500th cat adoption. Staff members were joined by people from the Eau Claire County Humane Association for the event. The cafe opened in the spring of 2024 and owner Shelli Schuppel admits she didn't think it would be this short before they hit the 500th adoption.

Stanley man killed in deer and motorcycle collision

TOWN OF WILSON (WQOW) - A 69-year-old Stanley man died after his motorcycle struck a deer on Saturday. The crash happened on County Highway D in the Town of Wilson. According to Eau Claire County Sheriff Dave Riewestahl, the Wisconsin State Patrol was called to reconstruct the crash, which is standard procedure for fatal incidents. Investigators found the man's helmet about 20 feet from where he was located.
