MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Following a remarkably brief special called meeting of the Martinsville City Council Tuesday night, City Manager Robert Fincher spoke with the media and members of the public for nearly an hour about a pair of ongoing city issues. The first is a state mandate that the city renovate its courthouse, which was built in 1968, or construct a new one, because the current courthouse, which also houses government offices, does not meet Virginia standards.
