Axonal Eif5a hypusination controls local translation and mitigates defects in FUS-ALS - Nature Neuroscience
Abstract Local protein synthesis is vital for neuronal function, but its dysregulation in neurodegenerative diseases remains poorly defined. Here we applied spatial transcriptomics to adult mouse motor nerve axons and cell bodies to enable subcellular mapping.
Spatial Epigenomic Niches Underlie Glioblastoma Cell State Plasticity
Publication Date 5-14-2025 DOI 10.1101/2025.05.09.653178 PubMedCentral® Posted Date 5-14-2025 PubMedCentral® Full Text Version Pre-Print Abstract IDH-wildtype glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain tumor with poor survival and few therapeutic options. Transcriptionally-defined cell states coexist in GBM and occupy defined regions of the tumor.
Spatial epigenomic niches underlie glioblastoma cell state plasticity
Abstract IDH-wildtype glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain tumor with poor survival and few therapeutic options. Transcriptionally-defined cell states coexist in GBM and occupy defined regions of the tumor. Evidence indicates that GBM cell states are plastic, but it remains unclear if they are determined by the underlying epigenetic state and/or by microenvironmental factors.
Single cell and spatial transcriptomics highlight the interaction of club-like cells with immunosuppressive myeloid cells in prostate cancer - Nature Communications

Abstract Prostate cancer treatment resistance is a significant challenge facing the field. Genomic and transcriptomic profiling have partially elucidated the mechanisms through which cancer cells escape treatment, but their relation toward the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains elusive.

CD4+ T cell activation distinguishes response to anti-PD-L1+anti-CTLA4 therapy from anti-PD-L1 monotherapy
Highlights • Addition of anti-CTLA4 to anti-PD-L1 promotes CD4+ T cell expansion in HNSCC • Pre-existing T1 immunity predicts expansion upon anti-PD-L1+anti-CTLA4 treatment • Expanding populations of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells co-localize with DCs and plasma cells • Anti-PD-L1+anti-CTLA4 activates CD4+ T cells in tdLNs, which traffic to the tumor Summary Cancer patients often receive a combination of antibodies targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA4).
Integration of Multiple Spatial-Omics Modalities Reveals Unique Insights into Molecular Heterogeneity of Prostate Cancer
Abstract Recent advances in spatial omics methods are revolutionising biomedical research by enabling detailed molecular analyses of cells and their interactions in their native state. As most technologies capture only a specific type of molecules, there is an unmet need to enable integration of multiple spatial-omics datasets. This, however, presents several challenges as these analyses typically operate on separate tissue sections at disparate spatial resolutions.
New Overtime Rule that May Affect You!
An estimated 1.3 million workers will now be compensated for putting in longer hours! The U.S. Department of labor just passed a new minimum yearly salary amount that will allow more employees to be eligible for overtime pay. The previous rule which stated that any worker earning a salary under $23,660 per year would be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek.
Ask the Right Questions
What if we lived in a world where anything a person ever thought was said by that person? This would make for a very interesting place to be. Sometimes I think a world with that much forwardness would be a good thing, on the other hand, probably not. Employers interviewing candidates need to take extra precaution at asking those questions that may be riding the line of being unethical and illegal.
The Importance of Customer Reviews
If you’re like me, you consult YELP for pretty much everything you do in life…OK, maybe that’s just me. Anyway, YELP is a great resource for deciding where you want to go. Whether that is for food, drinks, attractions or an HR, timekeeping, and payroll provider, it is so easy to get an outlook on a business based on their page. According to Invesp, 90% of consumers will read online reviews before visiting a business. This is HUGE, so why wouldn’t you take the time to manage your online reviews?
How Companies Can Attract Top College Talent
Student debt…. where to begin. It is an epidemic in the current age as many college students are graduating with thousands of dollars in debt. Pair that with a very competitive job market and you’re in a hole that is tough to get out of. That, paired with a very competitive job market can create a situation where new college graduates are digging themselves out of a financial hole.
June is National Safety Month!
As I’m sure you are aware, June is national safety month! OK, maybe you had no idea, but you should know that safety is hugely important in the workplace. According to the National Safety Council, a workplace injury occurs every 7 seconds. That is roughly 4,600,000 Injuries a year. Now there is no denying that sometimes workers can be careless when performing their job duties, but employers must do all they can to prevent workplace injuries.
Out With the New, In With the...Old?
Sometimes the “old-school” still reigns over the “new-school.” Companies now a days are ousting the traditional workplace benefits by offering perks like onsite workout classes, napping pods, coffee bars, and the best of all…office pets! With the modernization of the work environment, some old school tried and true traditions still have their place. What on earth could we be talking about here?
3 Tips to Boost Employee Engagement and Save Your Business Money
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Yahoo News. It is so easy to get off track in the vast world of distractions we have at our fingertips. This is no different in the workforce either. According to Gallup, about 70% of Americans are disengaged at work. Do you realize how much money that costs employers? About $450-$500 Billion a year is how much (The Engagement Institute). That is astonishing and is the modern-day form of robbery. Imagine how all that wasted time and money could be used for your business.
Evaluation of bisulfite kits for DNA methylation profiling in terms of DNA fragmentation and DNA recovery using digital PCR
DNA methylation is one of the most important epigenetic modifications in the regulation of gene transcription. The current gold standard to study this modification is bisulfite sequencing. Although multiple commercial bisulfite treatment kits provide good conversion efficiencies, DNA loss and especially DNA fragmentation remain troublesome. This hampers DNA methylation profiling of long DNA sequences.
