I wrote something before election day to reassure myself of Donald Trump’s defeat. Oh, how young and hopeful and full of sleep I was. We didn’t need to fret over the dead heat shown in polling. That’s what I told myself, anyway. When real votes were cast, a sufficient number would join the warm, professional and broad coalition assembled by Kamala Harris which stretched from Bernie Sanders to Liz Cheney.
