Widowed Warwick man: One man's trash is another's treasure

WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — A Warwick man who loves to fix things has taken his efforts to his front lawn. John "Jack" Burnett has lived along Norwood Avenue for more than four decades. He and his wife, Patricia, moved into the neighborhood in 1976 where they built a life together. In his younger years, Burnett said he worked as a roofer. After that, he was a custodian at Cranston High School before retiring in 2020. Jack Burnett said after his wife's passing he became somewhat depressed.

Attleboro mom opens ReLoved Boutique to help local families battling cancer

SEEKONK, Mass. (WJAR) — An Attleboro mom whose teenage daughter died from cancer is on a mission to help other families with children battling the disease. Lyndi Baker, the founder of the non-profit Lilly Lights the Way, said while her daughter was sick, she expressed it was her wish that should she get better, to start a foundation, similar to the ones that helped them, to help others.

Burger King surprises Swansea boy and dad who've visited over 50 locations

SWANSEA, Mass. (WJAR) — A 13-year-old Swansea boy is being celebrated by national franchise Burger King for his unwavering support, having visited more than 50 different locations in recent years. Maxwell Panarello, at a younger age, was not a good eater. “From really young he was a picky eater so it really started with fast food of all varieties, but it happened Burger King was the one he really gravitated to the most," said Maxwell's dad, Mathew Panarello.
