Man shot, killed after fight broke out at party in Katy area

A man is dead after a fight led to shots being fired at a party in the Katy area early Sunday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to the scene around 12:15 a.m. regarding a fight at a party on Sandal Springs Drive in the Lakecrest neighborhood. When they got to the scene, the sheriff's office said deputies found a 45-year-old man dead.

Woman found dead at west Houston apartment complex

A woman was found dead Friday night at an apartment in west Houston, according to the Houston Police Department. HPD said they received a call shortly after 8 a.m. reporting a woman lying on the ground at an apartment complex on Woodland Park Drive between Westheimer Road and Meadowglen Lane. The Houston Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead. Her identity is not known at this time. Authorities believe she is in her mid-30s.
