What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a contributor for a newspaper in my college town: The Red & Black. My foundation really came from there and I sure am grateful for that
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have not! I'd like to try it out though.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Social media!!!! I love social listening through digital channels, and to be honest, Facebook groups are prime for that.
Who do you wish followed you?
Katie Couric! I have looked up to her ever since I was a little girl watching the Today Show.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Get as much experience as you can! I tried out so many different mediums when it came to journalism, and I think it's really served me well.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Really anytime. No time is off limits to reach out, I may just not respond immediately. Never hesitate to reach out!
What's your favorite drink?
A coffee shop in my college town had a lavender latte that I loved. I'm not sure if the it's my favorite for the flavor or nostalgia...
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I love the New York Times, but specifically, its Instagram account. I think the visual storytelling there is so powerful.
