I have lived with long Covid for nearly five years. This article aims to explain the impact of long Covid on my brain and argue that the term ‘brain fog’ inadequately describes my experience. Instead, I believe ‘brain damage’ and ‘brain inflammation’ are more accurate and fitting terms. Brain fog is not merely an uncomfortable, fuzzy feeling. It is a devastating condition, causing both physical and emotional pain. Daily life is a constant struggle with grief.

This article is about my lived experience of (mostly failing) at rest and pacing. I have been disabled with long Covid for nearly five years. I got Covid in the first wave in early 2020. Before the lockdowns, before the vaccines, before anyone knew what long Covid was, I got long Covid because I got Covid again. I didn’t know not to push through my fatigue. So, that’s what I did. I pushed through to disability. I’m telling you this so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

Like any series with multiple renditions, One Punch Man has some major differences between its various versions. The manga and the anime take their time with different scenes, and character choices vary depending on what better suits the medium of presentation. However, the original webcomic, the inspiration for the adaptations, is almost an entirely different story. At certain points, its characters, fights, and even basic plot vary from its successors.
