We conducted a long-term aging test at high temperature on cubic glass rubidium vapor cells. The inner surface of the cubic glass cell was coated with ${{\rm Al}_2}{{\rm O}_3}$ using electron beam deposition, resulting in a thickness of 26.9 nm on the side walls and 63.8 nm on the bottom surface. The rubidium number density was monitored by measuring the absorption spectrum of the ${{\rm D}_1}$ line. The measured spectrum was compared with a simulated profile based on the Beer–Lambert law.

We describe the fabrication of a cubic Rb–Xe gas cell integrated with optical components. Two prism mirrors and a reflection mirror are attached to the Rb–Xe gas cell by optical contact bonding. This concept was studied by using free induction decay measurements of Xe gas with two diode lasers at 795 nm in a magnetic shield. The transverse spin relaxation times of $^{129}{\rm Xe}$ and $^{131}{\rm Xe}$ are 7.0 s and 7.2 s, respectively, with sufficient signal amplitude.

Abstract We demonstrate the measurement of the transverse spin relaxation rate of Xe without the influence of the Rb polarization-induced magnetic field gradient. The optical pumping beam and probe beam turn on and off repeatedly during the measurement to reduce the relaxation originating from the Rb polarization-induced magnetic field gradient.
