The Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA), which represents the UK's broadband and internet industry, said it was "not the answer" during a cost of living crisis and it would undermine a digital future. The universal "Home Internet Levy" was floated by think tank Social Market Foundation (SMF) as an alternative way to fund the BBC and ensure its future.

David Hooper, of Sheerness, Kent , was convicted of 17 offences including rape, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
