Students who complete a bingo card will be entered into a drawing to win a $20 Amazon gift card. November 7, 2025 On Nov. 13, the Department of Student Life will be holding a gift card giveaway where 10 participants will win a $20 gift card. In order for students to enter, they must complete a physical bingo card. Cards will be available to students at the Pathways to Success Event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Student Union.

The Balboas, a punk-surf rock band, started their roots in Akron and the love for the area has still influenced them to this day. Back in the late 90’s, Rich Griffith, Rick Frei, and Mark Healy found themselves studying Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Akron. All music lovers, these three men formed a group known today as the Balboas.

Two weeks before the start of finals for the 2024 fall semester, University of Akron students found out that their school had initiated the retrenchment process. While it has been no secret that the University of Akron has had financial difficulties in recent years, students were not expecting the news that their teachers may no longer be at UA. The news may feel sudden, but the process of retrenchment is a long one.
