The burst water main that’s caused an ongoing state of emergency in multiple Oakland County communities has been replaced—but that doesn’t mean full water service has been restored just yet. Officials with the Great Lakes Water Authority say the new pipe, which replaces the 42-inch one that ruptured in Auburn Hills on Sunday, is holding up well under normal water pressure. But they say the larger system still needs to be flushed, and pressure restored, before water use restrictions can be lifted.
