Have you ever used a typewriter?

No, I wish I had!

How is social media changing news?

It is turning the news into a conversation. It encourages readers, listeners, and viewers to voice their thoughts in a public forum.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

We used #JeterFever while Derek Jeter was in Scranton, it may not be comedy gold but it was a really fun week!

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

At the office I use Gmail and Google Docs to write drafts and type phone interviews, then we drop the stories into Adobe InCopy.

Samantha Power, Nicholas Kristof, Dan Pallotta, Anne Thompson

Why did you become a journalist?

To tell people's stories and bring about change by doing so. Truth begets action, and action can make positive change in the world.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Returning to Newtown and the things I covered while there. Helping the Bee in that time defined the reporter I want to become.
