We launched the New Day project in 2020, when everything was shut down and many social organizations were struggling. We had worked with Red Door previously, a Toronto-based shelter that provides emergency support for women, children and refugees facing precarious situations.

We wanted to support them as they’re a lean charity—there’s very little administrative cost compared to other charities. The money goes directly into the community.
