We generated PCLS from human lung tissue that was obtained from 21 patients who underwent thoracic surgery at the University Hospital (Inselspital) in Bern. Residual lung tissue from diagnostic procedures was utilized for PCLS generation. In case of cancer diagnosis, lung tissue was obtained from a tumour-free margin of a minimum of 5 cm. Patients consented to the use of residual tissue for research.
