A Japanese man has received a warning from authorities in the country’s Shizuoka Prefecture after leaving his 7-year-old son alone on the slopes of Mount Fuji, according to reports. A worker at a rest stop on the mountain’s Fujinomiya Trail found the child sitting on a bench in the early morning hours of Aug. 20, and reported the situation to local police, according to Japan’s FNN News. It is believed the father was hiking and left the boy behind after the child complained he was tired.
